Does anyone have exact idea on what is meant my PD portability. I have my i140 approved on locaiton A. Then I moved to location B and started a new labor and filed for 140 last month.
There was no mention in my second 140 about the old PD. When does exactly I have to mention that I have a PD to use. Is this in 485 stage? When I checked with my attorney he said, I have now two PDs and I can use any of them. But when and how I dont know?

Hi,
I have applied for my EAD and I-485 in the month of June '07 and all that i have recieved so far is my wife's EAD. I still did not recieve my EAD nor the finger prints notice nor the 485 yet. I have to move to IL from TX now and i am in a big confusion now. I heard that the mails from the USICS will not be forwarded to any new address by the USPS. If i would want to change my address with the USCIS now will it be a good move or is there any other alternative that you all could suggest me...Please advice me on this issue and help me out of this situation.

Yes, the post office DOES NOT forward USCIS mail even if you fill out the "forwarding address" form at post office, I have read this somewhere.
However, you can change your address with USCIS directly with AR-11. That way, USCIS will send it to your new address. Another thing, the receipt notices will go to your lawyer if you used a lawyer. Once the receipt notices come, register those case numbers in an online customer account on USCIS and track status. Once the status is approved, (of EAD or AP), then call USCIS to confirm that the cards are being shipped to your new address.

The US immigration officer at the Halifax airport took my old i-94 which was stapled to my passport (but did not take the i-94 from my 797 form)..But for my friend , the other officer did not take any.. just issued him the new i-94.. though my friend asked the officer if he forgot to take the old i-94, the officer said "dont worry abt it"

I have observed that typically after becoming great, have a tendency to hide his/her EB3 roots. I mean, who'll hire you as a CEO or rocket scientist if they knew you used to be an EB3.
Obama's father was a Kenyan EB3, but Obama insists his father was an EB2. The labor certification that the white house has put out for Barack Obama is clearly a fake.
It's sad but true, America still judges you not by the content of your character but the color of your labor certification.
I propose that EB3s append "EB3" to their name (like Ganesh Teesravarg ME(Comp Sci.), EB3) so that they get more visibility, and ppl realize they live among us, and with some help can actually be productive members of society.
There are hundreds of eb3s including me, waiting for last several years, to do the work that all the other waiting eb3s would be proud of, but sadly enough, we have not yet got the greeeeeeeeeeeeeen caard :D

The Gandhi's philosophy indicates the peaceful protest against obvious injustice. The USCIS/DOS decision to stop accepting I 485 from July 2 was the obvious injustice due to couple of reasons; First, it is un precedent and legally not right to stop accepting I 485 when they made big weekend rush to use all visa. Second, No one can suddenly on and off as thousands of people preparing stuff in advance based on the visa bulletin.
We can not use Gandhigiri for increasing visa number or expediting their immigration process. We can only request. it is not our right hence sending flower to PERM agency is not a good idea. Brahmastra (ultimate weapon) can be used at appropriate time only!

In 2003, there should be a demand of 23% of 300K (couting spouses)=69K. Total visas are about 140K per annum. So there should be some movement. i dont understand why there will be no movement.
From the numbers, I had kinda thought in Feb that it was very surprising EB-2 India was not moving, and seems like I was right.
Anyways, I hope we all continue to move :)

As I might have already mentioned, i've been working for a company for 2 years now with my EAD, they are willing to sponsor for H1B. so as long as my J principal has a waiver, then my company shoulnd face any problems on applying for a H1B right?
Could you please explain "As long as the H1-B quota is not exhausted and the petition was correctly filed". ? Is there a deadline to apply for H1B ?

In past, Googler, Conshell etc. have done a good job of investigative journalism (name check memo and other critical updates). Discovering VDL rao would be blessing for some sort of hunch on Visa number availability. He has apparently commanded our respect.
Some guesstimate is better than utter confusion.
We need you Mr. Rao. Help us in our journey from darkness to light.... an eventual green light!

Hey, I would like to help you but I know next to nothing about J-1 Physician waivers. It is a completely different system. My understanding that the best way to get a waiver is to go through the Conrad 30 program if your wife works in a hospital in an underserved area. I would encourage you look through this forum for individuals who would know more about the process. Likewise, I would also suggest that you consult with an attorney. I used one of the best attorney firms in the world and it was relatively inexpensive. Attorneys really do wonders in these cases bacause they understand this process inside and out and know exactly what the Department of State is looking for.

You have noble intentions and I salute your spirit but it does not make practical sense to try and raise $1M when on the other thread, we have not even touched $15K!! At least, this will not happen with a donations only campaign. If a corporate were to sponsor, thats a different thing..
Again, I think all (ok, most!) the members would donate $2000 if there was assurance/certainty of positive outcome. A lot of people are sitting on the sidelines, hoping for a positive outcome, without contributing time and/or money.
People, please contribute time and money towards IV to help yourselves!

Of the 3 the first one is my pick. Nature has little regard for keeping things level and plumb, so the shot has a slightly tilted feel to it. On the second one, it feels a bit cramped and probably would have benefitted by a bit more of the sky - perhaps by shooting from a lower angle.

My lawyer told me the backlog is 400K. As an European, I am expecting to wait between 2 to 3 years for my GC. Anything sooner would be a nice surprise!
