If I assume that every year EB3-India gets 5000 GC-Visa. From 2001 - 2008 Total = 40,000 EB3-India Visas
Is number of applications in 2001 and 2002 is > 40,000.
Its very hard to believe.
Its not 40,000 labor or 140's dude every GC is minimum 2 (applicant + spouse) in some cases if you add children then it can consume 3-4 visa's from the quota and that is what is making the line even more longer.
The reason it is stuck at 2001 is because a lot of people that did not belong to the EB3 queue got visas out of EB3 IN 2001. My primary tip is patience. When the wind is blowing, even slightly, if you're patient you will start to get in tune with the wind and be able to pick out the calm moments that always occur. You just have to be ready and then get off as many shots as possible during that calm moment. I shoot as many of my flower shots as I can very early or very late in the day. By very early, I mean at or just after sunrise. The wind is usually calm for a short while until the sun starts to heat the admosphere. I've had considerable success shooting in the very soft light at or after sunset, when the wind also calms. Long shutter speeds though. Unfortunately, too many blooms aren't open until the sun is higher in the sky and you have to resort to patience.
I've also had great success with a trick Don Bevis shared. You can get thin bamboo sticks in bundles for just a couple of dollars at your local nursery. Get the longer ones. I always carry two of them with me and stick them in the ground so that they apply slight pressure to the plant stem. This cuts down considerably on the movement. Don't know where Don learned the trick, but it works.
Some use a tool called a Plamp. See it here (http://www.naturephotographers.net/gs/gswimplamp.html) I've never used one, though have been tempted. The fear I have is that any clamping device will damage the plant. I shoot a lot in the gardens of several neighbors and at the Chicago Botanic Garden and make it a point to never leave any trace of my having been there. In other words, no footprints in the flower beds, no damaged plants, nothing. Don's trick works so well because it steadies the plant without causing any damage. It doesn't always work, but it does so often enough that it's worth hauling the sticks around.
I've also read several threads on other sites where people describe using "tents" to both diffuse the light and to stop the wind. I don't have any links for solid techniques, but will try to find some. It's tempting, though yet another piece of gear to carry.
These days I make heavy use of my 5-in-1 disk for diffusion and reflection. I have the 22-in. Photoflex Multidisc (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=breadCrumb&A=search&Q=&ci=6196), which I like a lot. It's excellent for a lot of light control purposes and sometimes serves as a good wind block. There are cheaper ones, but Kevin Sadler talked me into spending more money to get a quality product and I haven't regretted it.
When all else fails, I resort to flash to get the shot. I greatly dislike using flash and only use it when I want a shot and know that it's get it now or never. If I can come back and get the shot at a calmer time without flash, I will. I do use flash on occasion if I feel that the shot needs a little spark of light, but generally not. Flash is always used on a remote cord and diffused in some way, either with the wide-angle diffuser that's built into it, or by shooting through or bouncing it off of my multidisc.
As for shooting technique, a tripod is a must. I have two, but the one I use for flower shots allows me to splay the legs out and get the camera very low and/or allows me to reverse the column (I bought a short column to replace the one that came with the tripod) and hang the camera upside down. I use a ball head with a quick release. I also almost always use a remote release and frequently use mirror lock up. It's amazing how many images I've ruined because I moved the camera by pushing the shutter button or vibration from the mirror cause the slightest blur.
But above all, getting flower shots just requires a lot of patience. Hope all of this rambling helps.

Hey, I would like to help you but I know next to nothing about J-1 Physician waivers. It is a completely different system. My understanding that the best way to get a waiver is to go through the Conrad 30 program if your wife works in a hospital in an underserved area. I would encourage you look through this forum for individuals who would know more about the process. Likewise, I would also suggest that you consult with an attorney. I used one of the best attorney firms in the world and it was relatively inexpensive. Attorneys really do wonders in these cases bacause they understand this process inside and out and know exactly what the Department of State is looking for.

Its unfortunate that you have a very recent RD. I talked to an IO at NSC yesterday and i was told that they will process the case based on the order they recieved. So they go by RD. If this is true then i guess you will have to wait some more time. Because thousands of people applied I-485 between June first to July 30.
May be this is the general process, but I know of a case with RD in June last week and PD in 2003 Mar got approved last Nov/Dec area. It is an EB3 India case.

This is yet another inefficiency on their part. When it comes to AC21 your file does not even get updated even though you may have attached I-485 receipt along with AC21 filing. But when the employer revokes I-140 they don't forget to send you NOID or even I-485 denial.

I am changing my employer and wanted to retain the services of legal firm representing current employer. Upon asking that I want to retain their services after I leave current employer, I have been told to pay upfront retainer fee of $2500.
- Is it normally the case? I have been told that this fee will be put in my account with the firm and used to pay the charges for the services I request.
- If with God's grace my case is approved without requiring attorney's help, is this retainer refundable in full (I have asked attorney this question and waiting for thier reply). Anybody has a similar experience.

However I have not received any confirmation or a file number yet since it takes 2 months. We need to do something to make him change his mind or at least soften his stand. It should not be anything sarcastic. I think flower campaign will have element of being sarcastic or even being critical.
It should be something simple and humble. May be a meeting of IL members with his staff and then if we get an opening, meeting with Sen. Durbin himself.
This can be followed by something like letter campaign on the lines of admin fix campaign.

I agree. Remember there were two backlog elimination centers and the processing from Philly center was slow. So a person with a later 2004 EB2 PD application and whose LC was cleared from Dallas must have got his GC where as someone with an earlier PD was stuck in Philly. Most of the Dallas guys got their GC around that time.
That is so not true. Even though Dallas was faster than Philly, it only cleared labor for 2003 and earlier filers in 2005. Essentially Dallas mostly cleared only those cases in 2005 which were stuck at regional and not state level. My labor was cleared in late 2006.

To answer your question the Priority date column is NULL ( i mean blank) for most of us in 485 Receipt Notice.
But the "Section : " is showing UNKNOWN for some of us and showing something else for others...
I'm wondering if that could be an issue - shall we call USCIS to fix this ?

If this happens it will be a bad news as given environment I 140 approval takes years . Very soon there will be a backlog in I 140 stage.. They are just swaping backlog from one stage to another..

my husband's I-140 case was initially sent to Nebraska (after april 1st batch) and it got transferred to Texas and we got Texas service center receipt notice.
I guess you would send RFE to the center that issued the RFE. Wait for it to arrive....Also, you already have receipt notice, right? Look for the first three letters your receipt number starts with. If it is EAC, that your case is with vermont. If it is SRC, than your case is with Texas..

Its still better to try than not to try at all. If any IV members are in Sensenbrenner's, Peter King's (NY) (co-sponsor HR4437) districts as well as Lamar Smith's (TX) they could try and set up some meetings. I think meetings may potentially have a positive effect. As is evident from other postings, some congressional staff members do not know the difference between GC's and H1-Bs, others view high skilled workers the same way they view low skilled workers, and others have no idea about the hardships EB applicants go through, yet it is these same staff members who are charged with keeping the law makers informed or conducting research. While it might be futile to try in some of these cases, it doesn't hurt to do so.

Considering the lowered cost of stock I am planning to gets my hands dirty in stock. But I don't have much knwoeldge about it. Also, by the time I find resouces to learn more about stock, the prices might ahve gone up.
